3 DIY Christmas Ornaments

If you read the Red, White, and Black Christmas Tree, you know I was inspired by those colors this year. I was so excited about this new color scheme, until I realized my ornament problem. Let me tell ya, I have ornaments in some many colors; silver, gold, red, green, blue, pink and even purple. I have tots full of ornaments. Yes, I’m one of those annoying people. However with my annoying and colorful collection of ornaments, I couldn’t find anything black. To be honest this is the first year I thought about using black for my Christmas tree.

So let’s talk about these ornaments. In my mission to use black ornaments, I knew making my own would be the easiest. I took an earlier trip to Micheal’s on morning, I found these white ornaments. As I walked the isles of the store I found some awesome black and silver jeweled sticky gems, black bead strands, and then of course black glitter. Yes, I embarrassed my inner Poppy troll and I bought glitter. I have a love hate relationship with glitter. Love the way it looks, hate the mess it makes.

Below is a video tutorial of how I created these ornaments. I hope that this video inspires you to make your own ornaments this year. I always say, do what feels good to you. Glitter not your thing? That’s ok, leave it and your Poppy hair at Micheal’s.

If you make your own ornaments share pics with me here in the blog comments or on social IG @hint_of_lavender or FB @hintoflavender. I love to see what you come up with.
