Christmas is the time for butter and sugar. Am I right? One Sunday afternoon, after watching a couple episodes of The Great British Baking Show of course I wanted to bake and the kids wanted to help. I automatically thought brownies because they are easy. I wanted to make them festive so I added mint frosting and Christmas tree sprinkles. I hope you make these with your kiddos because it’s easy and they turn out delicious. I mean butter and sugar. What could go wrong?
1 ¼ cup AP flour
¾ tsp baking powder
½ tsp salt
6 oz of cocoa powder
12 tbsp unsalted butter
2 ¼ cups sugar
1 tbsp vanilla extract
Grease a 9×9 pan with butter. Preheat the oven to 325 F.
In a mixing bowl add the flour, baking powder, and salt. Mix together and set it aside.
In another bowl add cocoa powder, sugar and butter. Mix with a blender until smooth. Add eggs one at a time. Add vanilla.
Slowly add in the flour, baking powder, and salt mixture.
When everything is mixed together transfer batter to the 9×9 baking pan and bake for 35-40 minutes. The brownies will be done baking when you can put a toothpick in the middle and a few crumbs are attached.
Let the brownies cool completely before adding mint frosting and sprinkles.
If you saw the 3 Types of Hot Cocoa Bombs then you can make a night to remember. Ya’ll be in a chocolate coma, which is where everyone should be there time of year. I hope this recipe inspires you to gather the people you love in your home.
